September -70's Night

September 28th

WOW what a night to remember - not 1, not 2 but 3 mishaps and to add to that, a trip to the hospital. Accidents aside it was a fantastic night, everyone got into the spirit of dressing up and it was 70's all the way. The costumes were great and to my huge embarrassment some 70's looks that were not actually costume but someone actual normal cloths - Catherine you put your foot in it again ha ha.

Food was exceptional (as always) and the fondues were a huge hit and yes I said fondues because we hade 2, a cheese and a chocolate, hard to choose but I'd have to go with chocolate.

Now here are a few more foods, see if you remember these.

BUTERFLY CAKES - favourite kids birthday party treat as a kid

MELON BALL & PRAWN COCKTAIL - always an entrée at Christmas dinner

This has got to be the most authentic looking 70's dish - what do you think

July - Chinese Night

July 27th

The one I was looking forward to the least as I am not a Chinese food fan but then I went and was surprised that I actually liked the food, so no more pre-judgements from me from now on. It was a great night - as are all our themed dinner nights. I was enjoying the night so much that again the photo taking was forgotten about so alas I have no photos to share of our Chinese themed dinner, hopefully I'll remember next month, till then................................

June - Cylinder Night

June 8th

Now this was a night with a difference, not that we are running out of countries already but that we wanted a change a pace, make ourselves think outside the box (or the cylinder as the case may be).

Noticing a theme here..............ha ha

Some very inventive ideas and some very simple ones.

And a wonderful cool evening finished off with a few beers around the open fire................ahhhhhhh

May - Mexican Night

May 11th

MY FAVOUTITE NIGHT SO FAR

As you can see from my statement above, I love Mexican food, although I must say that when you actually go to Mexico, the food tastes no where near as good as our westernised version. Tex Mex.

Now, not only was the food a talking point at this party but also the outfits. Everyone got in the spirit of things and tried to go a little MEXICAN. I brought my sombrero that I have had in my cupboard for the past 10 years just waiting for this day.

A great night was had by all .............................................

but some of us didn't quite make it to the end.

April - Seafood Night

April 13th

Now this has to go down as one of the best food night that we have had so far. The food was amazing, if there was a better word to use than amazing then I would use it.

We started out with, seafood chowder, seafood dip, prawns, scallops, prawn subs and crabs.

The best dish of the night

The kids filled up on prawn crackers
and left over easter eggs and spent
their energy in the gym.

As if that wasn't enough and we weren't all full already, the mains came out. There was fiduela,
asparagus bake and a fettuccini carbonara.

March - Cowboys & Indians

March 9th

Now I must admit this one was more about the dress up and the drinking than the food. It was my besties birthday party and was quite a lavish affair with dress up theme and a live band performing on the night.

This is not food I hear you say but as stated in previous statement this party was more about the outfits than the food and the above photos shows how good the outfits really were. We did have food but alas I was more interested in the costumes and the live band that was playing, so much so that I don't even remember what food was served.

Enjoying the campfire

Then all that was left to do was to dance the night away
